People’s lifestyles, attitudes and absurdities within western society, and environmental issues are my greatest source of inspiration, transposing human/animal characteristics in to my sculptures. Although I work with many types of materials, I find that fibre offers a tactile, cosiness, mixed with other objects and settings: often as juxtaposition to the subject I’m examining. It draws the viewer into a false sense of security to engage with serious or difficult subjects that are hidden behind each piece.

The integrity in my work has a soul, a story/message or an empathy with the viewer so there’s an connection not just an aesthetic response. I want to reach out to young and old alike and hope that they go away with either a smile or frown across their face.
